I don't know much about Emory MBA, but since "M.B.A." mentioned Mckinsey, two good friends of mine from Gatech got in, both Chinese and came here after college.

If you are interested:

Case I, male, came here in yr2001 and got C.S. PhD in yr2006 with M.S. minor in IsyE.

Mckinsey extended offer to him months before his graduation...

His wife is now expecting a baby boy this June, hehe~

Case II, female, came here in yr2000 and got civil engineering PhD in yr2005 with MBA minor. (My major was also Civil Engineering, but I only got M.S. hehe)

She chose to stay at Gatech as a research associate (relaxing job) and then had a lovely baby boy in December yr2005.

Later she wanted to try something new and got offers from both Mckinsey and Boston Consulting in yr2006, winter time. She accepted Mckinsey's offer and now she's expecting a second baby and would start her consulting career after her pregnancy (Mckinsey has real nice policy to allow potential employees to delay hiring process for a whole year, wow!)

I know she and the other person got into the final round interview out of 40 some Gatech interviewees, and she's the final one Mckinsey chose, again, WOW!!!

I also heard that one qualified Gatech Chinese guy didn't get offer from Mckinsey (in CA office?) because he's not local there (his wife is in CA)...

So region is something you need to consider, but it's not a very important factor.

But the bottom line is: reginal bias has its own boundary Smile

PS: Mckinsey has a program only hiring PhDs (from all backgrounds): politics, history, engineering, science...
