Position 1: R&D Director
Report To: *** AgriFoods R&D DirectorQualifications: PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, organic chemistry, microbiology or food science from a recognized university in the US or the UK.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in cutting edge biological, chemical, food, nutritional science or agricultural research management in the West.
A proven track record of accomplishment in product development and commercialization by taking a product concept successfully from laboratory to the market
Demonstrated project management skills, experience in dealing with challenging problems, setting goals, prioritizing and implementing appropriate research programs
Demonstrated ability to manage people both domestically and internationally and the ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well with all levels within a team environment.
Experience in presentations at conferences and industry meetings
The Director of Research & Development must have an understanding and appreciation for the business needs of the animal feed industry and must be effective in supporting those needs.
Responsibilities:
The R&D Director is the Chief scientific and technical Officer for *** businesses in China and is responsible for all research, product development and formulation activities from product conception to commercialization. This also includes full responsibility for the quality and safety of all *** products and programs as well as governmental regulatory compliance. This position also acts as the lead commercialization scientist for the application of new molecules resulting from the research program. All product development should meet the mission of improving the productivity, health, safety and stability of the world’s food supply. The position is also responsible for setting the strategic direction for product development and commercialization activities in conjunction with the marketing and business development functions. The role of the product development and commercialization function is to combine strategic foresight in developing solution-ba<x>sed products as well as being nimble enough to respond quickly to an opportunity. The R&D Director is also responsible and accountable for providing technical support to assigned current and potential customers in order to demonstrate *** product effectiveness and to establish a long-term relationship with our customers in China. The R&D Director is a member of the *** AgriFoods China Executive Team.
Position 2: R&D Scientist
Reports to: R&D Director
Reporting to this Function: R&D Department
OVERALL FUNCTION :
As a member of the R&D management you will supervise a team of research
associates, is responsible for the innovation, development, testing, and scale-up
of new products in the business area.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Focus and prioritize research projects in the field of animal health and performance and assume responsibility for their success in compliance with the Product Innovation Process.
2. Test lab-scale and pilot scale production for new products.
3. Analyze and interpret research data, reporting results as research papers and scientific reports, both internally and externally.
4. Work closely with other functional areas to ensure that new technologies are developed in an efficient and timely fashion
5. Interact with sales and technical team, along with customers, to address technical questions and provide solutions to problems
6. Provide budgetary management and planning for activities
7. Assist in the preparation of patents and other IP decisions
8. Foster an environment of open communication and creativity
9. Guide colleagues in designing experiments, interpreting results and solving analytical problems.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
1. Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, or comparable field with at least 5 years of broad experience in technology development
2. Proven track record of accomplishments in commercialization by generating and developing new ideas ba<x>sed on new technologies to market successfully
3. Experience as an effective project team player, leader, and motivator
4. Practical knowledge of stage-gate processes is desired
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese
