European FMCG company is looking for Purchasing Manager :
Purchasing Manager – Direct Material or Indirect Material
Duties and Areas of Responsibilities
Ensure all purchasing activities are strictly in compliance with company policy, procedures and company code of conduct.
Set up a professional purchasing team.
Obtain and maintain an excellent knowledge of his/her product portfolio, the challenges of his/her internal customers and his/her supplier market.
Develop and implement purchasing strategies of direct and indirect materials.
Develop standard operation procedure.
Properly categorize all the indirect materials, and develop a SMART purchasing control system.
Lead negotiations with key suppliers to assure the established quality standards, volumes are met and competitive price & services can be achieved.
Take leading role in the local sourcing to lower the cost and relieve the shortage of the important materials.
Control and manage new purchase item, purchase price change and supplier change.
Work with user function closely to rational material spec., safety stock level, reduce order frequency and shorten supply lead-time and improve service level to users.
Utilize more e-commerce tools to optimize the order process.
Seek saving opportunity and deliver annual saving objectives.
Try to achieve 90 days payment terms for both direct and indirect materials and services.
Provide proper training, coaching to team staffs to set up customer awareness and improve staff working efficiency and reduce non-value add work to ensure staffs’ working quality
Provide purchasing related monthly reports such as:
Budgeting and cost control
ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO22000
Key Results Areas
l Develop & execute purchasing strategic initiatives.
l Develop standard operation procedure.
l Standardize contract format.
l Optimize order process (e.g. in consumable articles handling).
l Set up appropriate purchasing control system.
l Supplier services performance.
l Cost saving & 90 days payment terms achievements.
l Accuracy and on time rate of monthly report.
l Team professionalism and team performance.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor degree, major in commercial, food, management etc.
Over 6 years procurement experiences in an international context.
At least 3 years in management experience
Strong negotiation skills
Technical knowledge of portfolio goods and services
Good knowledge of purchasing process and its ownership
Deep knowledge of the relevant supply markets
Legal purchase knowledge (contracts)
Fluent English
Open, fair and transparent
Self-discipline and ethics
Willing to take up challenge and willing to be challenged
Good team player
Strong Analytical and negotiation skill
Deep knowledge of the relevant supply markets
