Software Developer (Data Warehouse)

Job description:

• Responsible under deadline pressure with minimum supervision.
• Ensures that code meets specifications.
• Writes code that is easily maintainable.
• Write Build document that is easily understandable for SIT/UAT/Production deployment.
• Is able to debug own code for preliminary testing. 能够调试自己的代码进行初步测试。
• Proficient with variety of development tools around SQL Server. 熟练的各种开发工具在SQL Server中。

Scope of work:

• Scope limited to functionality of subsystems and its interaction with other subsystems
• Medium complexity system components and tasks. 中等复杂的系统组件和任务。
• Develops code for one or multiple systems and coordinates source code releases of moderate to high complexity.
• Migrate an existing OLAP system from SQL2000 to SQL2005. Understanding the differences between the 2 database platform is essential. 迁移现有的OLAP系统从SQL2000到SQL2005 。了解之间的差异是必不可少的。
• Works independently within established guidelines and procedures. When necessary, participates in the creation of new guidelines and procedures.
• share knowledge with system development and test team
• Take ownership in user acceptance test and participate in the testing of pre-release versions of all World-Wide Tools. Provide bug reports and usability feedback to Development Lead.
• May participate in cross-functional teams.
• Other projects and duties as assigned by Projects Manager.

Requirements:

• A BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in a technical discipline.
• Minimum 2-3 years of demonstrated work experience in development related role.
• Strong SQL Server 2005 programming skills required and a demonstrated past experience in his/her past roles. Experience with SQL Server 2008 is a plus.
• Strong understanding and skills in OLAP development is a must.
• Having exposed to VB.NET development methodologies and ProClarity is a plus.
• Experience with issue tracking software such as RAID and MSE preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under continual deadline constraints are necessary.
• Understanding of networking
• Good understanding of how to design applications for optimal network performance
• Sound problem resolution, judgment and decision making skills required.

Accountability

• Knowledge and use of latest technology, standards, capabilities and limitations of technology.
• More independent work.
• Responsible for successful completion of deliverables within project.
• Exercises judgment within defined practices/policies.

Additional Information

• The individual should also possess the below from communication stand-point:
• Communicates method for problem resolution to customer groups, project team and IT support groups.
• Must be able to communicate technical and business problems in a non-technical manner.
• Strong written and oral communication skills required.
• Provides clear, effective status reporting to management.
• Promotes cooperative relationships.



SDET (Data Warehouse)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Recognize the value of a new testing methodology and incorporated it into the test approach for an application, which improved test effectiveness and scheduling
• Use programming/scripting languages required by the team (for example, Visual Basic, Transact-SQL, and C#), which resulted in effective automation
• Share knowledge with system development and test team
• Works independently within established guidelines and procedures. When necessary, participates in the creation of new guidelines and procedures.

Scope of work

• Review Business Requirement Document and Functional Specifications for BI project
• Design test plan and deliver test report as required
• Design test cases that reflected an accurate understanding of business requirements and application-level conditions (for example, depth of coverage), which resulted in test cycles that efficiently identified critical defects
• Create test scripts adhere to schedule; Maintain and update scripts
• Contribute/organize test case reviews with the project team and incorporated feedback into test cases for an application
• Perform system integration test
• Enter defects for problems found and track the defects. Assistant the developer to fix the defects
• Perform regression test for fixed defects
• Communicate with developers/PM in US and China


Requirement

• Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English.
