further to my points lighlighted in the two previous sessions, would like to focus on
to standout from the rest of the team you are part of, you need to have unique qualities and necessary skill set.
to acquire that kind of qualities and skill set, you need to continue to learn and practice on the job.
the higher level in a management positon you get to, the higher damand on your vision and strategy and tactics, and higher percentage on your people skill requirements.
your expertise cannot be just a slaesman, or just an engineer or just...whatever professional. that is the credential for the regulat team member where everyone start from and with.
if you have higher expectation for yourself, expand you knowledge structure, work on your people skills, sharpen you communication (verbal and writen) skills...
leader type is always a leader, with or without the hat of the title to wear. can you get there and are you sure you want to get there? if so, this will require you to put more into your jobs in and out of your office hours...
while profession/industry may vary, you would want to read about
business management
corporate organization
team motivations
human resource management
marketing
accounting
then, with new acquired knwoledge, take a fresh look at the job you and others have been doing every day, now what seems to be your new perspective?
wanna communicate that to your boss?
what would be the good timing?
what would the appropriate way to bring that up?
once tossed around, what do think of the reactions from the parties you talked to about?
before you talk to anyone about your vision, thought through on the specific plan how to go about to make it happen? every got rnough input/feedback from other eam members about it?
start from some where and start with somethign you can accomplish, one by one, little by little, they will have to make differences before get noticed.
then you can work on how to get attentions deserved at the right level. document them all. if the promotion is not happening, take your experiences gained here and the success you achieved, and tell the next interview boss what you just did on last job...you may have a good start
