1. Principle Software Engineer (Maas Team)
Background
Cloud Optimized Storage (COS) is a product within the Cloud Infrastructure Group.
COS is multi-petabyte platform for content storage and distribution. It combines massive scalability with specialized intelligence to address the cost and management challenges of globally distributing unstructured-content.
MaaS, Storage as a Service project intends to offer Cloud Storage as a service, which is building on the top of Maui. MaaS is a key component to EMC’s whole Cloud picture. MaaS project currently has a US team based in Cambridge, MA and a China team based in Shanghai.
Job responsibilities
Working under minimal direction and exercising considerable latitude, provides technical expertise in developing solutions to complex software engineering problems, which require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity.
Provides work leadership to others. Interfaces with senior management to provide and obtain information and to build onsensus regarding project direction.
May be accountable for overall product and/or serve as a customer advocate, may represent organization as principal customer contact.
Collaborates well with other engineers and other engineering groups, voluntarily shares information.
Offers proposed design changes/suggestions to processes and products, exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of an assignment.
Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives, without appreciable direction.
Writes functional detailed design specs as well as responding to requirement documents and system level test plans.
Significant contributor to organizational goals and objectives.
Interacts cross functionally on matter that require coordination across organization lines.
Assignments may include new products as well as upgrades, and enhancements or fixes to existing products.
Requirements:
6 -10 year experience
Strong C++ or C or Java programming background
Large scale web application architecture design and development experience
SaaS and SOA experience
xml, Web Services
Database Cluster
Linux application development experience
Shell or Perl
Data Center management tools development experience such as, services deployment, monitoring, billing, metering
Application user/account management development experience
Application security development experience
Excellent communication skill in both Chinese and English
Team management skill
Project management skill
2. Senior software Engineer

Working under limited direction and within general practices, provides technical expertise by independently determining and developing approaches to solutions for a wide range of complex software engineering problems.
Understands company goals and practices and applies them when resolving a variety of problems.
Uses judgement and creativity and sound technical knowledge to obtain and recommend solutions.
participate in and contribute to the design of the various components/parts of the MaaS project
write design documents and collaborate with the US and the rest of the China team
implement specific modules and functional blocks and become authoritative in certain areas
help developing world-class software by practicing good coding standards, and writing testable and maintainable codes
help managers perform team building, and help train and coach the more junior level engineers
Assignments may include new products as well as upgrades, and enhancements or fixes to existing products.
Requirements:
3 -10 year experience
